About L&R Farms

In 1967 Howard and Claire Robinson along with their daughters Gail and Linda purchased the farm from the Alban Family. They decided to name the farm Robinson Family Farms. The farm tenant at the time was a farmer named Hap Ordorff. Howard (Grandpa) and Hap began to raise and sell registered Jersey cattle. In that era they had a premier Jersey cattle operation. In the late 1970's Hap was having health issues and decided it was time to give up farming. In 1979 Howard and Claire decided to renovate the farm house on Columbia Road after Hap retired. In 1980 Tom and Gail moved into the newly renovated farm house. Also in that year Tom began farming the land and raising cross bred beef cattle as his side job to the Licking Co. Sherriff's Office. Tom and Gail raised their kids, Tommy and Erin, on the farm and have lived in the farm house ever since then.

In 1994 as the Lee Kids became active in sports Howard and Tom decided to rent out the tillable ground but continue the cattle operation. In 1996 Tom bought Tommy his first two Black Angus steers from our neighbor and close friend Dave Phillips. Since then we have built the herd to over 50 head of pure bred Black Angus Cattle. In the summer we also bale hay for our cattle and offer custom baling.

In 2008 we decided Robinson Family Farms would do business as L&R Farms merging the Lee and Robinson family names into one. The operation consists of a Black Angus Registered Bull, several pure bred Cows for breeding, and pure bred calves that are either kept for breeding or moved into the feed lot finishing program we have adopted. If we do have to purchase cattle as we do from time to time they are purchased from a local and trusted pure bred Black Angus farm.

Tommy's wife Jen along with their children Madison, Brody, and Jake are also very active in the farming operation and are members of the Boot's and Buckle's 4H Club. Erin and her children Colton and Kate, help with the farming as well. Linda comes to visit often to spend time with the family and enjoys watching the kids learn and work on the farm.

It is our commitment to continue to grow the cattle and hay operations to meet our customers needs in a family oriented atmosphere and maintaining the legacy of Howard and Claire.
